it's too late!
Videotape is a polyester ribbon coated with layer of very fine metal or magnetic ceramic powders. This magnetic layer holds the video signal recorded to it by your VCR or camcorder. However the magnetic signals recorded to tape fade over time. They also "bleed" through to adjacent parts of the tape since the tape makes continual contact with itself as it is wrapped around a spindle.
We have found the average tape begins to lose signal within 4-6 years from the original recording. This is a function of the quality of the original tape, the recording format and the quality of the storage or usage of the tape.
Our DVD recording is a cross platform compatible system which preserves the quality of the videotape in its current state. We use professional tape playback equipment so we can recover as much of the original video signal as possible.
Your DVD(s) are returned to you labeled and in high quality DVD cases along with your original videotapes. We also provide an additional backup set for storage in a safe deposit box.
We guarantee your original DVD from failing and will duplicate the failed DVD if you return both the bad DVD and the backup copy in its sealed holder.
Up to 2 hours can be recorded on each DVD. We only record 1 tape per DVD. Editing is at an additional cost.
