Plaque mounting and laminating is the perfect way to add an extra-special touch to your prized diploma, certificate, photo or other cherished documents. It also make a perfect gift for someone who has earned a diploma, award or professional certificate. The special lamination process on a real wood backing prevents damage to the document from oxidation (by the air), ultraviolet damage (from the sun), and modest impact damage. All while viewable on a beautiful custom crafted wood or composite backing.

WHAT WE CAN MOUNT ON A PLAQUE

   We can PLAQUE-MOUNT practically any flat material up to 1/8" thickness, in print sizes up to 32"x34" made of paper, cloth, parchment, sheepskin, or newsprint. This includes diplomas, award certificates, photographs, news clippings, magazine covers, professional licenses, drawings, watercolor artwork, and parchment documents.

Our process enhances, preserves and protects fine papers including sheepskin and parchment. Many diplomas and documents are printed on "college parch." We can laminate "college parch."

WOOD THICKNESS: 5/8" thick wood

BORDER SIZE : 1.5" from the edge of the paper item to the edge of the plaque

BORDER COLORS:

TRIM COLORS: 1/8" around all sides of Document in Gold, Silver, Black or White

BEVEL STYLE: Straight or Scalloped — BEVEL COLORS: Gold, Silver, Black, White

FINISH: Glossy (high luster) or Linen (matte: non-glare, finely textured)

PLAQUE BACK: Stained maple color with ready to hang cord or suede easel

SIZES: Most orders will be "Standard Size" (5"x7", 8"x10", 8 1/2"x11", 11"x14") but remember, we can laminate sizes as small as 2"x3" or as large as 32"x34"

Plexiglas over Plaque protects and enhances documents with the look of a laminated wood plaque. Documents are securely positioned on the laminated wood under a sturdy 1/8" piece of plexiglas affixed with four polished brass rosettes (see diagram below). Plexiglas Plaque is available with all of the colors and options of our regular laminated plaques.

WHAT WE CANNOT MOUNT ON A PLAQUE

Acetates, film negatives, some types of color laser copies, plastic-coated items, plastic 3-dimensional items, metal, and items glued to something else cannot be mounted. Many of these items are, however, perfect candidates for our alternative solution.

Plexiglas Plaque is perfect for the few occasions when the beauty and protection of lamination is required, but is not recommended due to the damaged or fragile condition of documents (or photos), or when a temporary solution is required for documents that have to be periodically replaced. It is perfect for documents with embossed seals, tape scars or glue residue, faded documents, some laser color copies, certain photo finishes, and all other problem documents.
